A spa-like experience for the whole family

Enamel and Root Dentistry is proud to offer a full range of general and family dentistry services for you and your entire family.
The health and well-being of our patients and community is the mission of our dentist and staff, and we do everything
we can to give our patients the up-most in dental care to improve their overall quality of life.

  • Dental Cleanings & Exams

  • It all begins with an initial exam and comprehensive evaluation. Every time you visit our office Dr. Alia and her team of skilled, gentle hygienists will perform a dental examination, a periodontal evaluation, and give your teeth a thorough, professional cleaning. The importance of healthy teeth and gums cannot be overstated, and we will do everything we can, in partnership with you, to maintain the health of your smile. We take real pride on our compassionate, gentle approach to cleaning, so your stress-level, comfort, and happiness are our highest priority. The smiles we help to create mean that we are doing our jobs effectively, compassionately, and with genuine enthusiasm. At Enamel and Root Dentistry, we do not have customers. We have family.
Dr. Alia highly recommends everyone visit a dentist at least once every six months. For some patients, with more pressing concerns, it may be requested that you visit more frequently so that we may more properly treat your issues. It is also never a bad idea to have a professional cleaning before special occasions in your life.
  • Periodontal (Gum) Therapy

  • The health of your gums and soft tissues is just as important as the health of your teeth, yet sometimes these crucial parts of oral health are overlooked. This oversight can lead to some serious repercussions including gingivitis and periodontists, aka inflammation of the gum, periodontal ligament, and bone in your jaw. According to the latest reports in the CDC, approximately 48% of all American adults over the age of 30 suffer from some form of periodontal disease. Periodontal disease is directly linked with other inflammatory problems in the body such as: high blood pressure, arthritis, diabetes, and can even cause complications during pregnancy.

We are committed to the health of the entire mouth, so during our examinations Dr. Alia will meticulously check for signs of gum disease and oral cancer. We utilize the latest technology, like intraoral cameras and the V oral cancer screening device, so our patients can benefit from the advances the 21st century has to offer.

  • Crowns

  • Dental crowns are fabricated caps made to fit over teeth. They are used to strengthen, restore, and improve the appearance of teeth that have suffered too much damage or decay to be adequately fixed with fillings. Dr. Alia is CEREC certified and can’t wait to bring this fabulous technology to her practice very soon!

Crowns are also used as implant restorations to complete the overall look of a patients smile. They are a permanent solution to a range of dental problems, but no matter the reason our staff would love to assist you in the entire process.

Dr. Alia and her staff will ensure that you are completely comfortable and satisfied with the service we provide, and walk you step-by-step through the entire procedure.

  • Dentures

  • Missing some, or even all, of your teeth can deal a serious blow to a person’s confidence and self-esteem. At Enamel and Root Dentistry we offer three types of dentures that can help turn that frown upside down. Dentures are a great way to give a patient back their smile, and reopen doors they had thought lost in terms of diet and self-image.

There are numerous benefits our patients experience after being fitted with the proper denture option; not the least of which is renewed self-esteem. Dentures can improve many aspects of our patient’s daily lives, and can do miracles for their facial structure. It is a wonderful feeling to help a patient see themselves as they were before tooth loss, and Dr. Alia along with the whole team are committed to your happiness and your amazing, new smile!

The three options we offer are:

  • Full Dentures

  • When a patient is missing most, or even all, of their teeth, Dr. Alia may recommend the full denture option. This option is the least cost-prohibitive, and consists of a lower arch, upper arch, or both. Dr. Alia also is proud to offer implant retained dentures for those patients that qualify.
  • Partial Dentures

  • Partial dentures are an excellent option for patients who are missing teeth, yet have some healthy teeth remaining. The dentist may recommend this option for patients who fit this profile.

  • Implant-Supported Dentures

  • Implant-supported dentures are a more permanent solution to tooth loss than the other two options. This option entails attaching the dentures to dental implants so that they more accurately mimic natural teeth. The fact that these dentures are attached permanently means the wearer can feel more comfortable while eating, drinking, or speaking.

  • Dental Implant Restoration

  • The professional team at Enamel and Root Dentistry understands just how difficult life can be when missing one, several, or all of your teeth. It’s hard to be at your best when your confidence in your smile is low. Thankfully, there is a solution. Dental implants are a permanent solution we use to repair the beauty and function of your original smile. These implants are composed of titanium rods which we work in conjunction with our periodontist to insert into the jaw that then bond with the jaw bone. Dental implants then function exactly as your normal teeth would, and many patients, in time, have a hard time distinguishing between the implants and the original teeth!

Dr. Alia partners with trusted specialists who, after a thorough consultation, will set the implants before our experienced dentist, finishes the procedure by creating highly-customized, highly-advanced dental implant restorations which she attaches to the implanted titanium rods. Our implant restorations are tailored specifically, in terms of shape, size, and color to the remaining teeth, or, if the patient has no existing teeth, they may choose the tooth shade they prefer. The whole process is so precise that even no one will be able to tell a difference!
Dental Implants, being just your natural teeth, will allow you to once again do all the things you once did. You can eat, drink, brush, floss, and speak exactly as you would naturally. There is no way to quantify just how important this can be for your confidence and self-esteem. And unlike dentures, dental implants help maintain the level of bone in your mouth and are fixed restorations.

  • Veneers

  • Thin shells made of porcelain that dentists use to cover existing teeth are called veneers. Porcelain veneers can completely change the appearance of a smile, and the proof is all over Hollywood’s A-List smiles. These shells can be used to correct the appearance of a discolored or damaged tooth, or makeover an entire smile.
Our talented dentist, Dr. Alia, will go over all of the options available to you, and then use her considerable gifts to create the smile you’ve always dreamed of. All of this can usually be accomplished in as few as two visits! These new porcelain veneers can be treated exactly as your natural teeth, and, with proper brushing and flossing, should last for many years.
  • Tooth Bonding

  • For teeth that are discolored, stained, chipped, or broken, cosmetic bonding might just be the solution you are searching for. This method is one of the least expensive ways to repair a broken tooth, is highly durable, and can be utilized for many different cosmetic purposes. Dr. Alia has an excellent track record of using her training, experience, and finely-tuned skills to vastly improve the appearance of a damaged or broken tooth.

The process of cosmetic bonding revolves around using a tooth-colored resin which adheres to the enamel of the tooth, and is activated by a special curing light that hardens the resin. Bonding does not entail any type of preparation prior to its use, so the entire procedure can often be completed in one visit. For the procedure, the dentist will prepare a resin that perfectly matches your tooth color.

After the patient’s procedure concludes, they are free to resume their normal habits; including their oral hygiene regimen. The cosmetic bonding will last, with proper care given to oral hygiene, for quite some time, but may require repair at some future date.

  • Bridges

  • Patients who are missing one or more teeth that are adjacent to one another may be candidates for a dental bridge. A dental bridge is made up of two crowns attached to a pontic; a fake tooth. The crowns serve as anchors to your natural teeth to hold the bridge in place. This is a fantastic way to restore facial structure, and improve the overall look of your smile. The dental bridges we create at Enamel and Root Dentistry are unique to that patient, and are precisely crafted and fit to give the greatest overall effect on your wonderful smile.
Bridges can help patients with many issues including:
    • Restore ability to chew, speak, and eat as normal
    • Enhance overall appearance of smile
    • Prevent remaining teeth from moving out of correct position
    • Replace removable partial denture
    • Reduce stress on the bite
  • TMJ Disorder

  • Temporomandibular joint dysfunction, or TMJ for short, is a chronic disorder that causes pain in the jaw and neck. The specific cause of TMJ can be hard to nail down. Factors like arthritis, bruxism, and jaw injury are just a few of the known causes of the condition. The treatments available depend greatly on the overall severity of the problem. Dr. Alia may suggest a variety of individual treatments, or a combination of several different treatments simultaneously.

Dr. Alia is a highly-skilled evaluator who can oftentimes suggest lifestyle changes that may help, or a host of other tried-and-true methods of relieving the symptoms. Night guards are often an inexpensive way to combat the harmful effects of this disorder, but if the patient’s symptoms are too severe then surgery may be the only viable alternative. In these cases, Dr. Alia will refer the patient to a trusted specialist who will perform the necessary operation.

  • Night guards and Mouth guards

  • Chronic teeth grinding, or bruxism, can be the cause of tightness in the jaw, unexplained headaches, and stiff/sore head and neck upon waking. Due to the fact that this grinding occurs during sleep, many affected people have no idea they suffer from this malady. Luckily, there is an effective treatment option available from Enamel and Root Dentistry; the night guard. Night guards are an excellent, low-cost option that can reduce the probability of future tooth problems associated with long-term grinding.

Today, in the Chicago, Illinois area, many youth and recreational sports leagues require participants to wear a mouth guard. Not only will a mouth guard protect your smile, but in contact sports, like hockey and football, they also protect against concussions. Protecting oneself or one’s child during athletic competition is our paramount concern at Enamel and Root Dentistry. Dr. Alia and her team would love to help you exercise and compete safely. We will work with you to accommodate any league regulations, and ensure the fit of your new mouth guard is as comfortable as possible.

  • Athletic Mouth Guards

  • In the dental health industry, we are privy to some very interesting, and sometimes disturbing, statistics. For example, there are over five million teeth knocked out each year in the United States; most during the course of athletic competition. That most of these incidents are completely unnecessary is what makes this so disturbing and unfortunate. Dr. Alia has professional mouth guards that far outperform their store-bought competitors, and we will personally work with you to ensure maximum comfort and protection. We take our patients safety very seriously, so we highly recommend you get a mouth guard before putting your beautiful smile at risk!

  • Orthodontic Treatment

  • Everyone wants to have a beautiful, straight smile, and, traditionally, dentists have used braces to straighten teeth. Yet, the brackets and wires also have a detrimental effect on confidence and hygiene. Well, times they are changing. Dr. Alia is proud to offer Invisalign®, a smile-correcting system that is revolutionizing the way we straighten teeth!

Invisalign® consists of a series of custom-fit aligners made from a thin, clear plastic. The material is so thin and clear that the self-conscious feeling so frequently experienced by patients with traditional braces is virtually eliminated. The fact that there are no wires and brackets means the patient feels a great deal less discomfort, and because the aligner can be removed when eating and drinking the patient’s level of oral hygiene is easier to maintain. Invisalign® offers our patients all of the benefits of straightening without the drawbacks of traditional braces.
When a patient chooses Invisalign®, the process begins with an in-depth consultation with our dentist, Dr. Alia, and a thorough examination to determine the appropriate treatment schedule for you. At Enamel and Root Dentistry, our dentist and team, use a personalized approach to the Invisalign® treatment in order to achieve the best results. We will shepherd you through the process from the first day to the last, and do so with compassion, understanding, and a gentle hand.
